So, it’s probably been a while since you last washed your car. That’s the way most people work unfortunately in winter. And now your car is covered in road salt, dirt, birds mess and all the other dirt that comes along with leaving your car outside over the whole of winter. With the weather getting better, now is a great time to get your car looking good again. So with this in mind, over the next few weeks we’re going to be showing you how you can use all of the lucky 11 products to get your car, looking great again. The best way to start, and to limit the amount of damage that is done to your paintwork through contact washing, is with a pre-wash. The main parts of a pre-wash are snow foam and a citrus pre-wash. From Lucky 11, we offer Husky Snow Foam and Zing Pre-Wash. Zing Pre-Wash can be applied direct from the bottle using the trigger spray provided. Normally, the lower sections of the car and the wheel arches will be the dirtiest parts of the car, so Zing pre-wash should be applied to these areas. Once left to dwell for a short time, this can be jet washed off, helping to remove as much dirt as possible before applying the snow foam. Next up will be to apply Husky Snow Foam, to the car, using a snow foam lance. When doing this, it’s best to start from the bottom and work your way up to the roofline. Again, this should be left to dwell to help remove as much dirt as possible. Then rinse off the snow foam starting from the top of the vehicle, working your way down. Now onto the wheels. Using Zing citrus pre-wash and/or Husky Snow Foam onto your wheels wont cause any harm, but you may need a stronger clean for the wheels to remove the iron particles on them from your brakes. For this we have Volcanic Fall Out Remover. This can be applied direct to the wheel, using the trigger spray provided. Leave this to dwell and you’ll see it starts to turn purple as it reacts with the iron deposits on the wheel. At this point, you can either use a brush to agitate Volcanic or simply spray off with a pressure washer or hose. And that’s pretty much it for the pre-wash. If there are any difficult to reach areas then Zing can be applied directly to these and agitated with a detailing brush. Normally grills, badges and window trims will need this kind of treatment as the dirt can get into little crevices. So after the pre-wash will come the contact wash, and we will look at that next time. Bye for now.
